About Us
Meet Our Founder
Hello, my name is Dr. Gary R. Engler, Jr. I am the founder of Engler Labs, LLC. I have my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Stevens Institute of Technology, and have been working in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for 10 years. I have also taught Mathematics, Computer Science, and Machine Learning at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at both Stevens Institute of Technology and the City College of New York.
With over 10 years of experience in the field of machine learning engineering, just shy of 5 years of that at Facebook / Meta, and the rest split between startups and financial services, I've worked on a multitude of projects of various scopes and purposes, ranging from a small group of students with projects during my time at Stevens to half of the worlds population during my time on Instagram Feed Ranking.
After spending those years working for these other companies, I realized that I wanted to build something of my own. Something where I could build out the products I want to, based off of what I've learned about understanding peoples interests as well as helping others to reach the goals that they set. It probably sounds over-used, but I like solving problems, it's what originally attracted me to mathematics as a field of study, pushed me into the doctoral program, and drove me through my time learning how to build ML systems at startups.

Engler Labs is a "Product Focused R&D Lab Specializing in Machine Learning and AI", what that means is that we specialize in the 0→1 process of building a rapid prototype to test a concept and / or product idea and if it is successful work to deploy it into production.
This means that we can:- Lead the development of software solutions that you want to build, test, and deploy.
- Provide your organization with expert advice in the fields of data engineering, machine learning engineering, and artificial intelligence,
- Help you decide if one of our existing offerings will satisfy your requirements, or
- Help educate yourself and your workforce on how the latest advances in the field of AI can potentially help your organization function more efficiently.

We are currently working on several projects, both internal and external
ELLA (Engler Labs Learning Assistant)
A system that allows professors, instructors, and corporate trainers to be able to make sense of large bodies of documents, build relationships between them, design a syllabus and assessments, and then run a class to help educate people on the subject matter.
Ella
Document Acquisition, Classification, Learning, and Education - This is the AI powered system that powers ELLA, which has many more potential applications than just ELLA.
